Translation Reference
Special elements
The English content that you are translating contains special elements that fall into two categories:
- Elements that must never be modified
- Elements that are language dependent and can be modified if appropriate
The following table summarizes these elements. The Modify? column indicates whether the element can be modified.

| Single word in curly brackets { } | Never | {liftoffTime} | The element is replaced by SRO with the actual value. |
| Link in curly brackets { } | Partial | {link, Customize} | Translate the second word only, e.g. {link, Personnaliser}. |
| HTML formatting tags | Never | <strong>, </strong> | These are used to format the text. |
| HTML break tag | Some languages | <br/> | This is used to insert a line break. Do not modify, except for Chinese, Japanese & Korean where the line break may not been needed if the phrase is very short. |
| English quotation marks | Language dependent | “ ” | Replace with the quotation marks appropriate for your language. These are used to indicate a quotation. |
| English single quotation | Language dependent | ‘ | Replace with the symbol appropriate for your language. |
| En dash | Language dependent | – | Replace with the symbol appropriate for your language. |
| Non-breaking space | Language dependent | | Used to prevent line breaks on a space, for example in the French banner Super Radiance en Ligne. |
| Non-breaking hyphen | Language dependent | ‑ | Used to prevent line breaks on a hyphen, for example in the Turkish program step TM VE TM‑SİDHİLER. |
